The problem with a lot of apps which we might think of as “hook up apps” is that they are also used for dating! Sure, Tinder is one of the most successful of these apps, but there are plenty of people on the platform looking for love while the rest of us are looking to quell our lust. No mater what hookup app you use, making sure you don’t make these 5 hookup mistakes will make or break if you actually land a hot date.
And that’s where things get muddled, when you think everyone’s on the same page but they’re reading two different books. Everyone has had a moment where they think someone is down to bang but that person is looking for someone to settle down with, marry, buy a house, and have 2.5 kids with.
You might feel rude for un-matching with this person, but they can’t blame you. You’re just looking to get it in! You don’t want any feelings to get involved (yuck… feelings).
So how do we solve this problem? You could go on one of those “local singles in your area” sites with the homepage that looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 90’s. You could continue to swipe through Tinder and hope you find someone who’s down to bang. Or you could get Feeld.
Feeld is easily one of my new favorite hook up apps out there! They brand themselves as a dating site as well, but with Feeld it’s more understood that this community of “open-minded couples and singles” are usually looking for – or are at least open to – casual stuff.
I love this site. It’s a platform where you can really let your imagination run wild and their premium membership doesn’t charge you for the kind of bullshit that Tinder does! Their upgrades are actually useful.
Allow me to break it down for you… here are a few bulleted reasons why I am obsessed with Feeld:
1. It makes me feel expensive
One thing that makes a successful app is the design. When you’re pursuing a dating site, you don’t want to feel like you’re stuck in the 90s – or worse… the early 2000s. This app features sleek design and navigates pretty easily.
This is basically the chic swinger club of dating apps. You don’t feel like you’re doing the mobile equivalent of trolling through a sticky college bar, you feel expensive – like almost Christian Grey level of expensive and sensual.
Plus, they have sexy Spotify recommendations on their page. They’re giving you the full package.
2. The name is clever as Frick!
So, you may not catch feels via feeld, but you get to play the feeld and hopefully get feeld up by someone sexy.
I love the name. 10/10, good work.
3. They’re not pulling a Zuckerberg on us
In their user agreement they agree to not sell your data! So you can use this site and know they’re keeping your information private – which is super important when dating as an open-minded person because we all know everyone isn’t as open-minded as we’d hope.
4. How they’re using wallpapers to connect people
They have a few projects which hope to connect people in the outside world. One of which are unique wallpapers created by the app. They hope that they will signal to other open-minded people around you in a discrete way that you are also open minded. I think this is cute and a fun – yet completely non-abrasive – way to express your sexuality.
5. Their premium membership isn’t complete shit
Unlike Tinder which makes bank on you paying to go back to some hottie you swiped left on, Feeld isn’t into that gimmick. Their premium membership allows you to do useful things, like hide from your Facebook friends who are also on the app and see who’s feelin’ you before you decide if you’re feelin’ them.
